Program Itinerary:
We’ll meet up at Courage Performance in Belmont, CA at 6pm, Friday the 14th of July. We’ll go over the plan for the weekend, pack everything in our van and head out to the woods. On the van ride we’ll go over what to expect out of this incredible weekend experience. From 8pm until 8am you’ll be alone in the woods, no flashlight, no food, no water, just You and Nature. You’ll have a couple questions offered to ponder, but besides that, it’s up to you. Think, sleep, meditate, zone out, do whatever comes to you. At 8am you’ll be picked up and we’ll begin our day of exploration and education. We’ll explore the forest, learn the basics of land navigation, shelter building, finding fuel, and survival. We’ll have some adventures, learn, and have some fun new experiences for sure! As the day winds down we’ll set up camp and prepare for an evening of good food and conversation around the fire, there will be plenty of philosophical exploration. We’ll talk about what you experienced the night before, what you thought about, and what you felt. We’ll talk about what it means to live in the word we live in, how to appreciate all that we have, and how to connect to what it means to be a true human in a world that we’ve created to disconnect from humanity. We’ll sleep under the stars, or in tents Saturday night. In the morning, we’ll pack up our camp, head back to Courage Performance, and back to civilization. See you out there! Josh Courage Director, Living With Courage FAQ: Who can sign up for this awesome experience? Anyone who is interested in connecting with nature, learning how to live minimally, and is searching for a little adventure in their life. We are capping this at 8 people, so, register quickly if you want in! When is this fun time in nature? Our very first Living With Courage Rite Of Passage will take place from 6pm Friday July 14th until around 9am Sunday July 16th. Where will the program take place? We will meet at 6pm Friday evening at Courage Performance in Belmont, CA. We will return there at around 9am Sunday morning. Our weekend will take place somewhere in the Santa Cruz Mountains. How much does it cost? $150. There is an 8-person cap for this adventure. Where do I register? Contact [email protected] and he'll get you all signed up. Who’s the guide on this adventure? Josh Courage, owner of Courage Performance and creator of the Living With Courage Project. What do I need to bring? As little as possible. If you want a tent and sleeping bag for the second night, bring that along, but all you’ll really need is whatever clothes you might need for a weekend in the woods (one change of clothes. You’ll be responsible for all of your stuff. Remember, this is about separating yourself from the comforts of your home and all you have, so pack as minimally as possible. What will you guys supply? We’ll supply water, food for Saturday nights' dinner, and a wonderful and unforgettable experience. Is it safe? Of course it is! And we’ll be checking up on you throughout the night in case you are really struggling for whatever reason at all. Will I get dirty, or bugs on me, what if it rains, or it gets cold, and no flashlight all night? Yeah, all that might happen, it’s nature! That's the point! Embrace nature, embrace the dark, the moonlight, the weather. Embrace it all and learn to enjoy the things that have always naturally existed. By the end of the night you'll have a new appreciation for nature, and all those fears and worries you had at the start of night won't matter at all to you!
